With all due respect, you’re missing the point of my piece. Michelle Duggar created 19 children by making the beast with two backs with Jim Bob. Nevertheless, there is a certain way that women are supposed to act once they become mothers, and talking a lot about sex and writing about it, wouldn’t be on the list. Again, with all due respect, you missed the greater point of the piece as a whole, in which I discussed how there is a certain constraining of a woman’s identity once she becomes a mother. We all know a woman had sex to become a mom, but there is also an expectation that she will strip herself of a more sexualized identity after motherhood. This creates a kind of schizophrenia in a woman wherein, yes, she will still be having sex — often to create more children — but for all other intents, display a rather wholesome (chaste) image to the world.
